Vacation

So only a 3 day trip stands between me and vacation.  We’re going to Hawaii for 8 days.  8 days of not thinking about arming doors or overhead bin space or exit row briefings.  The only thought about the drink trolley will be what liquor goes with which tropical fruit juice. A much needed vacation, and as far as I can remember the first vacation that is for the sole purpose of relaxation.  Sure I have been on many a vacation, but they just seem like I’m more tired when I get home than when I left.  Back in June we went to London and Paris.  We had a great time, and saw a million things. Went to Paris Pride, met long lost family, met some friends that until that point I had only ever talked to online.  But that was part of the problem, we ran around to do a million things and didn’t have any time to relax.  Our vacation in 2008 consisted of flying to Seattle to see the Boeing factory, Phoenix and LA to visit family, Vegas for a funeral, and New York to see Gypsy.  All over the course of 13 days.  SFO-SEA-PHX-BUR-SFO-LAS-SFO-JFK-SFO.  Seems more like a flight attendant pairing than a vacation.  So finally we decided this year would be the year to take a break from the run and do a million things vacation and finally take a relaxing vacation where the only decisions we have to make are should we lay by the pool or on the beach? Pina Colada or Mai Tai? I cant wait.

I will do a little travel journal here during our trip.  I’ve never been to Kauai so any recommendations on what to do would be great!

Yeah, even when it’s stuff you want to do and it’s fun you still have to stop and bask without the doing of things
